Allison Mitchell

Family Support Director

My name is Alli Mitchell. I am originally from Arkansas (Go Razorbacks!) but moved to Kansas when I was 7 (Go State!).

My Journey as an early childhood educator started way back when I was eight years old. Like many older siblings, I babysat my younger sister. Before I knew it, I was babysitting for family and friends, and I even had regular families I babysat for by the time I was in middle school.

I had always had a passion for helping others, so by the time I was ready for college, I pursued a degree in Social Work at Kansas State University. After graduation, I worked for a foster care agency and eventually a family preservation agency. Both positions taught me a lot and intensified my desire to help children and families. After being a stay-at-home mom for a few years, I returned to the workforce as a Junction City WIC office representative. After a year, I moved to another position as a Pregnancy Case Manager with the Health Department. Before becoming the Family Support Director at Loving Arms, I also held positions as a paraprofessional working with autistic children and a Mental Health and Nutrition Services Manager at Head Start.

Loving Arms has been a big part of my life and my daughter's. I am so thankful to be a part of the children's lives, and she loves coming here for childcare. In my spare time, I love spending time with my dogs, Dublin and Bane, and my three cats Catsanova, Ella, and Zorro. My daughter and I love finding new crafts to enjoy and going out to the waterfall at Geary State Lake.
