Tyrone Burks, Jr.

CEO/Program Director

I am the Chief Executive Officer and Program Director of Loving Arms Childcare and Preschool. I am responsible for selecting, motivating, and evaluating all team members and volunteers, managing the facility's day-to-day operations, and ensuring smooth functioning and efficient organization. I have nearly thirteen years of childcare experience, starting at Loving Arms in 1999 when I began volunteering in the family business and was eventually promoted as Loving Arm's Deputy Director while attending college.

After college, I married my high school sweetheart, Morgan. I spent the next nine years in the United States Air Force, which moved my family to Florida and Nevada. During my years as a non-commissioned officer in the Air Force, I was directly responsible for the care and supervision of 32 junior enlisted personnel across two career fields - both as a military policeman and an intel analyst. During that time, I led and trained the airmen I was responsible for. Under my direction, four troops made "Below the Zone" promotions for obtaining their promotion six months before their peers. In addition to earning a "Below the Zone" promotion, one of my airmen was honored with the "Airman of the Year” award on the wing level.

I attended Airman Leadership School, which taught me different leadership styles, flexibility, adaptability, and how to work with and lead people from all walks of life. These skills and my Child Development Associate (CDA) have informed my roles with Loving Arms. Under my leadership, the Loving Arms Childcare & Preschool has taken on community stabilizing efforts, including meal deliveries to other childcare facilities.

In my spare time, I -- an avid sports fanatic -- enjoy rooting for my beloved LSU Tigers and organizing a local football league.
