Tyronica Burks-Watkins

Director of Education

I have been with Loving Arms since 1999 and have worked in every facet of the facility. As the Director of Education, I develop the curriculum used in our facility, which focuses on age-appropriate learning that is also intriguing, collaborative, and exploratory.

In addition to developing the curriculum for Loving Arms Childcare and Preschool, I also operate Loving Arms University, where I offer lessons, activities, and curriculum. Through this endeavor, I aim to increase childcare quality and adult educational programs, parental awareness, and homeschooling to stimulate school readiness in young children.

Several of these programs have been approved for in-service training hours for childcare providers through the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE), while others have been taught in various community and workshop settings.

As a part of my commitment to furthering quality education for children and families, I earned several credentials and certifications, including:

  • Bachelor of Science in Family Life and Community Services, Kansas State University

  • Certified Family Life Educator Certification (CFLE)

  • Certificate in Conflict Resolution, Kansas State University

  • Child Development Associate (CDA)

  • Flip IT: Train the Trainer (Feelings, Limits, Inquiries, and Prompts)

  • Missouri Childcare Director's License

To continue my education in the Early Childhood Education field and stay up to date with the newest information and trends, I maintain memberships with organizations such as High Scope while also taking continuing education courses, training, workshops, and seminars.

I enjoy crafting, reading, and creating memories with my husband and son during my free time.
